Mob Mentality
by snowbird indo i detect a spirit of intolerance on the beloved jwd board?
some posters can speak about anything and get a gaggle of positive responses.
others get beaten down for simply expressing a different viewpoint.

Are you a CRACKED POT?
by Terry inare you a cracked pot?.
that may be the best indication of why you have/don't have the urge to worship!.
worship is man's natural reaction to god...if...god has made him a certain way.. otherwise, the man who experiences no reaction to god (or a negative one) is a vessal made for destruction.. in romans 9 paul goes on an on about god being like a potter who makes some pots that aren't worth keeping and other pots that are worth using.. we are one pot or the other!.

God is also a cracked pot - made by man.

On my way to the car in a school parking lot, a woman announced the plane attacks to me. I thought she was some nutjob, until I heard the news on my car radio.
It was horrifying. I was frozen for a while, in my car, listening to the news in disbelief. When I got home and turned on the t.v., one of the towers had fallen and the second one was about to crash. It was the most unbelievable thing I've ever seen happen in my world - in this country.
I worried about a friend of mine who was working there near the harbor at the South Street Seaport Museum, and about his daughter who still lives and works in NYC. I could not get through to them or to anyone on any of the phone lines. It was awful. Later, my friend worked as part of the bucket brigade. They were both okay, at least physically.
It was a terrible day. So much wasted and lost - lost to the stupidity and hatred of religious fanaticism. Imagine a world without religion. Maybe people would still kill and hate each other for other things, but religion wouldn't be there to continually justify such wanton and foolish destruction - in the name of somebody's imaginary friend called god.

What's reasonable to expect on a first date?
by serendipity ini've been on online dating sites for a while, have exchanged emails with over 100 guys (politely saying "thanks, but no thanks" to the vast majority) and went on dates with a few.
i'm generally disappointed in the emails these guys sent and have been disappointed in the dates.
i'm not sure if the problem is with my expectations or if there is just a lack of communications skills and courtesy among people.

In answer to your question, rabbit:
Speaking of the Internet...does any one know if there are ex-JW boards like JWD there ?
Information & knowledge is the power that will knock the Towers down.
Long live the 'Net !
Rabbit
I'm sure there are others.

So, then, by that standard, it actually is god's will that I am an atheist. Hmmm. What a crack pot idea for a "loving" god with "loving arrangements."

offers to study after going inactive!!
by gabriella ini just recieved my third offer to have a bible study after being inactive for several years.
hello,, i remember where the kh is if i wanted to attend and i think after five meetings a week my whole life i know what the teachings are without having another "study".
i just found it very degrading and arrogant to assume that there must be something "wrong with me" or that i "needed help".
-

I think I'm going to call the local kh and ask for a study myself.
Before they come for it, I'll make sure I don't take out the trash or change the litter box for a week, won't brush my teeth at all for a few days, and I'll have them come into my unmade bed (in the living room) with a 12-pack for the study.
I think that'll send 'em packing . . . eventually . . . maybe . . .if I don't show any cleavage to the elders or repressed lesbos who show up.
Who knows, maybe if I show some real sincerity, they'll help me clean up a bit, LOL!
